Free audio editing software?

Does anyone know any that I can use to edit the audio recorded from a lecture?:confused:

I'm looking for something that I can lower the noise levels, etc.

Also, for those of you that record lectures, how do you clean it up? Which effects do you put in it?

Search it up in Google. It's free, simple yet powerful.
 
I second that. I use Audacity for my podcast, and it does everything I need. Try to get the 1.3x beta instead of 1.2, its much better.
 
So the thread title, instantly thought of Audacity like the last two mentioned.
