alright, like many ppl on this forum no doubt, im a World of Warcraft player. Recently i decided to start using fraps with WoW to recorc my gameplay. Now, im on a pretty decent comp, A64 3200+, 1024GB of DDR, 6800GT,.

Basically my question is...might there be a way to increase my FPS while playing the game, atm it drops 40FPS when i turn the recording on...

any ideas?

I don't know if it's good or not to get that with your setup since I have a much slower computer. You need to tell us what resolution you're recording at before anyone can tell you if that's a good fps (plus if you are recording at full size or half size). 40 fps is more than enough though for any movie though. I record at 25 and the result looks totally fine.

Btw, you do know that you can change the fps rate you want to record at in FRAPS right? Maybe it's set to 40 and that's why it's not going above.

See I have the same problem. When I try to play CoD, my fps just hits the ground. It goes down to at least 20 fps. I believe the max res for fraps is 1280*1024 (not sure though). But I run my games at 1024*768 and i run fraps at 30 fps with Half Size enabled. Still, it drops down.

I use this for recording gameplay. It doesnt rape framerates in games like FRAPS does while recording.

i paid for gamecam after testing both and fraps when compared to gamecam is a peice of crap.

Mac.

So it gets into the game and work with it. Even gives an ingame menu.... I wouldnt trust that thing when playing CS. VAC might detect that as a hack. Something like this happend back in the days when people were using HLAMP to listen to music while playing cs.
