I have always wanted to build a SFF computer and it looks like the time is right.Think it is going to be a challenging build but hopefully a rewarding one!
These are the components i have chosen.Hoping i can get away with the 500GB M.2 as i don't really want to add any more cables to the system than i have to,just use the space to store cables.Same with the 2 case fans,if i can get away with it,i'd prefer not to install those, had to buy a splitter cable to use the fans.don't have any plans to OC,should run anything out there for a while including VR.
Going to try and pretty the case up with some hydro dipping,so going to be a nice project!
All in,i am around $1800

It's funny you mention hydro dipping because I also did that with my Node 202!
I mixed red and black. However I messed it up, the paint didn't spread properly on the water so it was too thick when I came to dip and the outer edges had began to dry.

I used the advised amount of borax so I'm not sure why it didn't spread. But I would definitely advise against using warm water.

Even though I messed up it still looked really cool with the top piece hydro dipped and the bottom stock black. I highly recommend it as a cool paint job. Good luck!

Interested how things have gone so far. I'm looking for this style of case for a replacement computer that I plan to just sit my 30" office Sony TV on top of. I'd probably just pay someone to get a prebuild if I could find one in this form factor at this point. I've become super lazy these days on secondary and teritiary computers. I enjoy building the main gaming rig every few years but not any of the others. =p If I can borrow and steal your ideas on I'd appreciate it!

I've found this case to be great, limited on cpu cooler that can be used so be smart on what cpu you use. Anyways I used an I5 6500 with stock HSF and it had no issue with temperature and the same MB as listed above. Now my daughter has the build, it was a Christmas gift.

I also used the same Gigabyte motherboard as listed in first post above which I also used in an I7 custom built case. Great board.

Thanks Noko. Do you think the top of the case is flat enough and sturdy enough to set a small TV on top of?
