Another review of the Fractal Design Define XL R2 has popped up on the internet today. This time around it is the crew at APHNetworks doing the reviewing.

The hydraulic bearing fans have a smooth running motor with no annoying noise during operation; combine that with thick insulation material simply keeps the noise in, and the heat out. I am also quite impressed at its ability to eliminate certain types of noise. While it doesn't magically cancel out noise made by very fast moving fans, the Fractal Design Define XL R2 does a fine job and keeping my already very quiet parts even quieter than before.

That's the case I chose for my latest build. Very nice case. Mine isn't totally silent since I added extra fans where I could (one in the top, one in the side and an extra fan in the front) but still very quiet.

Easily in the top. The top can actually accomodate a dual 140 radiator, but it has proper holes to mount a dual 120. Though if you plan to have it as an intake at the top, I'd get some sort of magnetic filter to help keep dust out.

I just finished a new Haswell build in this case with an H100i in the top. Plenty of room to spare.

This is likely one of the best cases I've ever worked in over the years both as a hobby and as a technician.
