Running hardware in my sig. Getting studdering and FPS drops in Insurgency. Drops down to 60-70. No idea what's going on. Did a fresh Windows 8 format and put latest ATI drivers on the rig. Still the same issue.

What temps are your CPU and GPU running?

Have you run a test on your RAM? HCI memtest is going to be the quickest to get back results and is more reliable than memtest86+.

Going to do HCI memtest right now and see what we're working with. 70C idle for GPU and about 33 idle for the processor. Going to run some games and see what's going on with the temps too.

Best monitoring program(s)? - it's been a while.

70c idle for the GPU????

You should be getting around 41C-45C idle with one with a reference cooler.

That idle temp is way too hot. The GPU is throttling because of overheating I am guessing.

When was the last time you cleaned the dust out of the GPU cooler?

Get MSI Afterburner from Guru3d.com to monitor the GPU temps and speeds. You can also configure a custom fan profile, but I would get the idle temps fixed first.

How is airflow through your computer case?

Is your computer in some sort of cubby or cabinet?
