Foxconn Brazil iPad Deal Facing Barrier

Brazilian government officials and Foxconn representatives are trying to work out the details of a promised package of perks from Brazil including tax concessions. Foxconn has recently moved up its production schedule in Brazil from November to July to meet growing demand for the iPad.

Foxconn intends to first begin assembling iPads in Brazil using imported parts, and then start producing screens and other parts locally in coming years, the reports said.
