Cooling with TT Big Typhoon
Vcore stuck @ 1.33V:(...And bios only 1:1 or 4:5

Until Foxconn released bios that can open Vcore >1.33V, this board is useless with <10X multis conroe.

On the bright side...Vdimm and Vmch are awesome...

Stock Vmch 1.52V...

Vmch goes up to 1.94V and beyond...

Already set it up, might as well....

Just wait untill Foxconn comes up with a better bios...Provided its not a hardware limitation by default. It will save you time.

Have you sent an email to Foxconn asking if it's a hardware or software issue?

Also great thread!

I haven't talk to the main tech. yet, when I called the office just about ready to close.
At least they aware of the problem when I call them later tonite.

ok cool thanks, I'm in debate whether I should get this mobo or everyone's fav asus conroe board
lol
I'd rather take a chance and go with the up and comer, save a few bucks

Normally don't quote pics but I had to point something out I found funny.
Perhaps the SOL on the front of the box is an indicator.
:p

Not a rip on Foxconn so no one freak out. Just thought that was funny.

Hitting 350FSB on stock voltage and default multi (X10) isn't too shabby at all. If Foxconn releases a beta BIOS that removes the Vcore limitation then hitting 400+ shouldn't be out of the question. I think it's more of a BIOS limitation then anything.

Another comment I wanted to make. Foxconn appears to be heading in the right direction regarding catering to enthusiasts, but the shipping BIOS for the 975X7AB seems rushed and buggy to say the least. The Fox One utility is a great start, but for crying out loud release a half-way decent BIOS.

Gaming with Foxone @ stock 1.3Vcore...So far is ok

Something that I found interesting was Foxconn removed the release BIOS file for the 975X7AB from their website. Perhaps they've heard the complaints and they're going to post a new BIOS file in the near future.

hmm, could you possibly explain the ramifications of having the Vcore capped at 1.33v?

It will be fine for regular use, but it will limit the overclock. With X6800 open multiplier I can go stable @ 10X350/ 3.5Ghz maxed.
With more Vcore this cpu can be pushed to >4Ghz for gaming and everything else.

If Vcore is the only thing holding back your X6800 then that's ashame. Hopefully Foxconn realizes that the boards release BIOS is shit and they improve upon it.

I tried all 975 boards exept Abit and Gigabyte. So far Asus P5 and Intel bad axe are the better of them all, in term of bios for conroe.
All need Voltage modifications (Vcore/Vmch/Vdimm/Vfsb) to go to the max. with extreme cooling (LN2/Cascade).

Yes, I hope Foxconn will release better bios soon. They have all the resources since they are the biggest of all (a/k/a Hon Hai Precission, the biggest Intel oem)

I'm actually waiting on Foxconn's P965 motherboard to arrive on Newegg. It should debut in the $110-$120 range and hopefully the Vcore isn't stuck at 1.33.

I'm guessing I'll get the asus rather then the foxconn, running a L6400, what OC do you think I can get with the stock hs/fan in a well cooled case? Do you think I'll need at least pc-6400 for an OC of around 2.8?

nvm, getting the OCZ 2GB PC2-6400 EL Platinum Rev2 XTC

I started a thread over at the Foxconn support forum asking about a new bios for the 975X7AB

link is here

feel free to add any imput ... & maybe help out , I have a feeling my post may get over looked because its in english
