I found a ipad 2 in one of the apts I have at the complex I manage. Apt was abandoned. Anyway, is there a way to unlock this thing without tenants info?

Well reseting to factory specs was easy. But previous owner has the find my apple device setup and it has it's own password which stops any use of device.
 
Almost makes me think its Hot , or the last people living there also found it and could not get it to work so they left it.
 
No I think it was her boyfriends who she had hauled off and packed up quick and abandoned apt. Left a tv and xbox. This has a broken screen but still works.
 
No way around it without proof of purchase. Its a paperweight for you.
