Colorado Springs, Best Buy at Chapel Hills. I over heard one of the sales people talking about how they just got 3 in......now they have 2.

ha my local BB just got 3 in as well (think thats all thier getting to all of them?) $399 but it may have been the 128mb.

I think I might have to jump on this tomorrow. I've been checking for availability at my local Best Buy and it's not been available at any of them according to their website. But today, all but one of the local stores showed they had it. I called and the computer dept. guy said they don't carry it then said it's not in stock. He didn't even bother to look. I'm going to guess that he was assuming since he'd never seen them in stock before that they must not be in stock today either. But based on bestbuy.com and this thread, I'm going to check it out tomorrow morning. Hopefully it'll be there because the 9800 Pro just doesn't cut it for Doom 3 and I'm not about to play through this game at 1024x768 at medium quality. I also don't want to wait forever to play it, so hopefully the dang 6800 GT will be in my system tomorrow.

EDIT: Damn it! I just called them before they closed and the person I talked to this time said they just sold all 3 that they got in to one person. And there aren't any on order right now. I probably should've gone in this afternoon. I have a feeling that they all went to employees... or maybe just one employee. Very, very frustrating.
 
The bestbuy in Bellevue, WA isn't scheduled to get them until the 15th. As are the others in the area I suspect.
 
A bunch of BBYs have them. A buddy of mine just picked one up at the hurst store in tx.

He wa like 45 minutes out side of colorado springs he owns a paintball field/shooting range/gun shop/bike shop a guy named Dragon man its been a long while since I was in colorado but last I was there he rented full autos and also got in trouble by the air force for fireing his tank on his land :)

not only can you rent you can buy too :)

My local best buy got 3 in tonight also. I went and got the last one. I noticed about 5 best buy's around me also got exactly 3 per store.

the fucker has LAWs and everything...hes got a Suzuki Sidekick or samurai..I forget but its got a passenger side mounted .50BMG or .30 I forget and a roof mounted .50 as well as a mortor in the ass end....he isnt all there.... :D

Can you show pics, or say what it looks like. My bestbuy had 3 and it was different than any I have seen on the net, except the 128mb GT. Is that what you got. What does the heatsink look like, does it have the sticker or not? The one at my BB did not have the sticker on it.
Sorry for all the questions but I want to know if I should go buy it or not.

I was reading about this before I went and picked it up. Yes it does look like that 128MB box but it clearly states 256mb 6800GT. It also states 6800 GT OC on the heatsink on the front. It does look different than the one on the BFG site, but it is a GT 256. Maybe they have a deal with best buy?
 
Yeah. Dragonman is still around and yes, he still rents out those weapons. I was at the Best Buy this afternoon around 4 when I picked up my 6800. They hadn't even put them out on the floor. It's the 256 meg version and it was $399. :D

none of the BB's here have any 6800s...and ive been looking for the last two weeks
 
Oh, I forgot to mention. My card came with a full copper heat sink with silver, shiny cover. Doesn't look like the ones I've seen on the net. Totally new
 
i was just at a new best buy in des moines, ia and they also had 3 BFG 6800GT on the shelf. they were the new ones with the blue PCB and custom HSF. i had it in my hands and was going to buy it but remembered that best buy screwed me in the ass in the past so i put it back on the shelf and am sticking with my order with chumbo.com so if anyone lives around here there were 3 when i left.
 
I really hate Best Buy. The store 15 minutes away from me told me yesterday afternoon that "we don't have any" only to tell me "we just sold them all" a few hours later. What happened to not having any?! So they told me, and bestbuy.com confirmed it, that a store about 30 minutes away still had them. So I went there today and didn't see them on the shelf. So I had someone check the computer and the computer showed they still had 2 in stock. But I got "we can't find them" and "I have no idea where they are." And then the store another 15 minutes away from there had none. It's really furstrating. I've been waiting on Best Buy to have these cards since they were announced, the stores finally get a few, and now they can't find the damn things. I hope they'll start to be much more readily available, otherwise it looks like I have a few more months to wait.
 
The BB's here in California all seem to be expecting three each in the next day or so. The price is $399. They tell me that the demand for this card is high and they have been getting a lot of calls yesterday and today.
 
I checked online and their webpage indicated that they had them in stock at my local BB, but of course I show up and there's none on the shevles. Had a clerk check the inventory and he said they didn't have any :{
 
I work at Best Buy in Birmingham, AL and we just got our 3 in today. Employee discount entitles me to a $290 BFG 6800GT OC, so ha!
 
uh, stupid question, but does the "BFG" in bfg technologies stand for big freakin gun?? :p

If it does, then that's retarded.
