Today at work I've been cleaning our equipment storage room. Well I came across this interesting little Cisco box.
It's a Cisco 1030 Wireless lan controller. It has a Epia Mini-itx motherboard with a 1.0ghz VIA C3 processor.
Its dimensions are H: 2.5" W: 8" D: 10.3". I believe this will make an awesome little HTPC. The existing powersupply board requires a 12v 5amp supply, so I'm assuming it's 60amp. Which won't be enough, so I'd have to get a higher power pico psu.
I have a 220w Dell Da-2 power brick (overkill I know) that I can use for this. I have an existing Asus P8H61 mini-itx with an I3 2100, it's installing in a HP 3020 Slimline. I believe cooling won't be a problem since the Cisco box has better airflow than the HP. My only concern is that the CPU cooler for the 2100 won't fit under the disk mounting rack, I may have to do some relocating.
