... failed in 1 day. I was surprised how light it was too. While these things do happen a more substantial psu for the same price (a few $'s cheaper actually) is the ePower Puma 450W. Single 28A on the 12v vs dual 18A on the Fortron. Comes with sleeving too.

Well, when I build one of the first things I do is fire up the machine with only the basic components needed to get a bios beep. That way I save myself alot of time should the psu be bad. No sense fooling around with cable management and other stuff only to undo it.

In this case the cpu fan spun all so briefly, then nothing. Everything seemed grounded ok so I disconnected and replaced with an old Enhance 350W psu. Bingo, it started! Only other thing worth mentioning is the sound which came from the Forton, a very faint sound similar to someone crunching a piece of paper.

All too often I see rampant speculation as to what goes wrong with pc builds ... often wrong, throughout the forums when the simple fact of the matter is there's nothing better than spare equipment to isolate.

I have the same model powering the rig in my sig....runs brilliantly, super stable lines...and it's heavy too...

Maybe you got a dud or something, but mine is awesome.
