Fortron 530 fan problem / question ....

well, i just heard my fan pop in my Fortron Source 530w. after listening to it hit against itself for about 15 seconds, i powered it down. after removing the psu from my system, i fired it back up to see wtf was going on, only to find a dead fan. so, i have two quick questions:

1. can i run the psu without the fan until i get a replacement?

2. is it easy to replace the fan? if so, anyone have any experiences with this procedure?

How many fans does your PSU have?? If its the exhaust fan I would say dont run it in chance of overheating and killing it.

1. not a good idea

2. generally its very easy, the worse case senerio being twisted wire and electrical tape
but upgrade to solder and heatshirk as soon as possible
(assuming its not a pin solution of some sort)
