I just finished my first build. I was told to format the HDD using ACHI before installing the OS so that the esata port on the HAF922 would be active. I didn't take my time I changed one setting to ACHI from IDE, missing about three others. Naturally the drivers didn't download. Later while fishing through the bios I spotted the settings I should have changed, and changed them. Then when the system booted it installed the drivers (after the OS installation). When I set everything to ACHI the bios doesn't recognize any drives. The system still boots, but the next time it restarts the settings in the bios are back to IDE. Am I loosing any performance using IDE instead of ACHI? Do I have to reinstall the OS in order to have the drive operate in ACHI?
