i will be getting a different mobo for a change of pace and i want to format my hard drive in the process. how do i do this? is there a command that can be entered in the command prompt? thanks in advance

If you are installing Windows XP or Windows 2000 the install program used with both operating systems automatically asks you whether you want to format or not.

Choose the NTFS option, and choose the quickformat option in the XP installer (2000 doesnt give you a choice) unless you suspect the integrity of your drive.
