Whats the difference between a Quick format and a full format on the Windows XP disk? Just wondering, thanks.
 
I believe the quick format justs allows the data to be written over. Wheras a full format actually erases the data. I may be wrong but that was my understanding of it.
 
For most cases a quick format is more than sufficiant. If you're getting mad chkdsk issues that won't go away a full format may help though.

If you've got the time then a full format would be a better idea but as long as your drive is still in good order and your not reinstalling cause of a drive error then a quick format should be fine if your in a hurry :)
