Forget iPhone, Think Google Phone

This story should be considered nothing more than a rumor until we here otherwise, but the idea that Google could be positioning itself in the mobile phone sector really isn’t that farfetched.

The Observer of London is reporting that Google might be working with HTC and mobile/telecom giant Orange to build a Google Mobile Phone, which could possibly have Google software inside the device, and would be able to do many of the web tasks smartly.

I use a Cingular 8125 at work, basically a re-branded HTC Wizard. I love the functionality of the device and would consider a Google branded model if they did the software right.
