Forecast: Gaming Drought ?

Well, American and Canadian dollars are basically the same now. (Boo. I liked it when a dollar Canadian bought 1.10 USD....)

While there are places with higher rent here's the thing: This is a city of 1 million people, spread out to hell and back. We're a very, very low density city that historically has had much lower property values and rental costs (within five years many homes doubled to tripled in value - some areas more than quintupled within ten years). Honestly, the rents only stand out because they've gone up so sharply recently. Having an economy that's hotter than it's been for decades, and that's been staying hot for some time has pretty much done in unemployment and vacancy.

Oh, and <3 Spore's concept/demos so far. It damn well better deliver.

Frontlines: Fuel of War!

Stuck playing the beta for now, I'm pretty excited for its release.

Since I am not the type of gamer who blows through a new game in about 2 days....and I can't justify spending a huge chunk of my disposable income...all these new releases will keep me busy for a long while yet even if there is a drought.

I don't think there has ever been a time there wasn't a drought for me. I rarely find most games to catch my interest and be worth buying. The only new games I've bought since Supreme Commander was released early this year are BioShock, NWN2: MotB and The Witcher. I burn through them so fast. :(

Wow, you must do nothing but play games in your spare time :p

Even if no more games where made, ever. I still think i could play for the rest of my life just fine. :D
