hey i was wondering how often does nvidia releases newer drivers? i am new to nvidia coming from ati and thier once every month. The reason i am asking is because i think the 61.77 causes too many bugs when i run games... like doom 3 everytime i exit it freezes... anyways how often? and if anyone would know how to solve my doom 3 problem.. i am running a 6800ultra
 
nvidia is going to be releasing twice a year, but there are alot of leaked drivers that you can use between whql releases. Try the lastest leaked drivers ya can get them from the download section of www.guru3d.com
 
Sometimes more than 2 times a year actually.... The 61.77 was released like a day after 61.76 or something like that.
 
Its my understanding that they are the same driver, just with DX9.0c "official" support.

I do wish they would release more official drivers per year. Once every 2-3 months or something.
 
I'd much rather have the monthly releases of ATI. (When ATI managed to get them out monthly, that is.)

However, after switching back, I'm noticing that even an old Nvidia driver is better than anything ATI ever put out.
