Forceware good/bad ?

Ok, I've recently used my first ever nVidia card, unfamiliar with the best driver, I downloaded the latest Forceware. I have a Geforce4 TI 4600 under 2400 XP+ with 512 2100 ram. This system is running my CS perfectly, but my COD and MaxPayne2 is nearly almost unplayable. I've tried turning on/off AA and AF but it makes no difference in FPS wise. my only guess is that it's the Forceware driver? Weird thing is my CS runs lot more smoothly and more FPS with AA (2x) and AF (2x) on. Lastly, in my Forceware menu it says Geforce4 TI AGP (PCI MODE). What the hell does that mean?:confused:
 
For the older TI Cards try and get the older drivers E>G 45's as they perform much better with the geforce4;)

Sounds like it might not be using AGP texturing. Run dxdiag and see if AGP textures are enabled. If not you've got some sort of problem. Usually when this comes up people one here say "(re)install your mobo chipset drivers", so I'll just repeat that.
I haven't actually had this problem, so I'm not sure off the top of my head how to fix it. If that doesn't work come back & I'm sure someone else can come up w/ something to try next.
 
I have a A7N266 ASUS mobo.. I don't think I got any updates for this. :(

By the way, in my dxdiag, it says AGP texture acceleration is not available.
 
You'll need the latest nForce drivers from the NVIDIA Web site. But be careful when you install the 3.13 drivers: I'd recommend cancelling the installation after letting the files extract into a directory, and then going into that folder in Windows Explorer (My Computer), and then deleting the Display subfolder. Otherwise, the 52.16 ForceWare display driver that comes with the 3.13 nForce driver package will be installed whether you like it or not.

The nForce driver set is for your mobo.
 
Thanks guys, nForce driver really fixed the "(PCI MODE)" problem and my COD and etc runs really really smooth. However, I'm faced with a new problem, there seems to be flitches and clipping all around my pixels and stuff.

Edit : Hmm, for some reason only my TI4600 does it all of a sudden because my MX440 runs perfectly fine.
