I just updated to the latest nVidia ForceWare 77.72, and I noticed that most video played on my nVidia card seemed to play in 16 color mode. As in, something that was once a nice textured gray was now solid gray, with solid splotches of blue, green, and white. Did anyone else have this problem?
My hardware setup includes an i865 board with 3.0c, GeForceFX 5700 Ultra AGP, and a Radeon 9250 PCI. I'm running Windows XP SP2, latest Intel INF as of a couple days ago, and Catalyst 5.6.
Before I installed the new driver, video played back fine. Afterwards, it seemed to affect most video, including Quicktime .MOV and DivX .AVI. I usually use VLC for video, but was able to use Media Player Classic to get full color on .MOV, but nothing, including WMP 10, was able to get full color on the .AVI.
I uninstalled the new 77.72, and reinstalled the older 71.89, and I was unable to reproduce the problem. Just to verify, I uninstalled the 71.89, reinstalled 77.72, and had the same color problem. Uninstall 77.72, reinstall 71.89, no problems.
