Forceware 66.70 Leaked

That's usually a sign of a very bad but very rare bug. d-:

EDIT: Oh, wait, I see. The 70 is a higher version. Weird seeing it go like that.

Damn, when are they going to WHQL one of these!

It doesn't matter, WHQL is just a title. Try whatever drivers come out, you can't hurt anything.

He's right. They have to wait for the WHQL people to go through all this little testing process when, in fact, they've already done that very same testing process themselves....

Bah, WHQL is for chumps. It's not like beta drivers will sell your soul to Satan. Install them, use them, if you like them keep them. Rather simple.

These drivers no *not* work for the FX 5200. It causes a hang at bootup right before the login screen.

I'm running them now on my 6800GT... gonna see if they're any good. :D

66.70...everything works (DV, DVD playback, ect.)...66.51..DV doesn't work. These are the first drivers since the official that I can access the gamma slider in windvd. The Actual image quality is subjectively much better than 65's, this is something I've noticed alot as I've benchmarked.

I JUST SCORED 66.5FPS IN DOOM3 AT 1600X1200 WITH 2XAA.

That's a record folks, and beats the 65.76's by about 11fps! These drivers smoke!

I LOVE 66.70! Keeping these for (what, a couple days at least!). 66.70 are the best drivers, bar none. There is nothing that does what these do...everything very well. Even doom3 is faster on these than on my previous favorites 65.76.

I highly recommend the upgrade. And for the record, I just ran them back to back and 66.70 gave me another 100 pts in 3dmark so I'm definately keeping these.

Nice. I need to try Doom3 again. I'm uninstalling it soon to wait for the official expansion pack since deathmatch servers are pretty empty.

WHQL doesn't make a bit of difference. I couldn't care less if Microsoft blessed the drivers or not. If they work and are stable and give me good performance I'm happy.

mmmmm...expansion! I can't wait for more game with this engine. It just purrs with these drivers--so smooth. I wish I could have played doom3 with the same smoothness then as I could now (for the first time).

I got my 66.5fps at 16x12 with 2xaa timedemo 1 with max quality settings too, like lodbias -1 and rounddown set to 0.

Graphics look so good! :D

any of you have a Dell 2001fp monitor? Did it fix the screen door effect/the screen flashing?

Thats probably the most common problem with beta drivers... they are made for target hardware. I usually dont bother with the beta status and all with old cards. I could see why you did seeing how you have both.

Just thought I'd throw this out there with the talk I'm seeing.... even though I do agree WHQL matters little.

Not sure what problem you are reffering to here. I have the DEll 2001fp Monitor (AWESOME!!), and have no problems with Doom3.(or farcy, or Halo, or ground control2, or Warhammer 40K...)

I never had this problem to begin with. And I can only notice the screen door effect when I'm an inch away from the monitor and looking for it. Since that's not how I play games it never bothered me.

Well the FWs are supposed to be unified, so if it doesn't support a card most likely the card's not part of the ini [which is no big deal, simply pop open notepad and modify the nvdisp ini].

Upped my 3dmark05 score by 600 pts yay! Haven't tested it with any games yet however....
Edit: Score went up even more w/ my gt @ ultra speeds. Up to 5119 :)

I get 66fps in doom timedemos with 66.31's, if thats normal or not. 1600x1200, high, no aa.

i think im an idiot or something. that link in the first post wont let me download. it goes to that page but it doesnt do anything after the page loads. and there isnt a download button.

I can't see that...at 1600x1200 High Quality (4x AA, 8x AF) I muster 43fps. At the same 1600x1200 with only 2x AA/8x AF I get 56....WHERE would 10fps come from. My cpu at 2.5ghx should be smacking a bit on that P4
 :p Are you SURE you have the Nvidia control panel AA preference to "application control?" And then set AA in game?

That's more like it.....if you ran 2x AA you should drop, say, 10fps? Can you try that and report back?

I got 62.8 fps with 2xaa 1600x1200 HIGH, bumpmaps/shadows etc on, everything on besides vertical sync. High performance on nvidia control panel, but I do have anti aliasing on always off, may have forgotten that.

You're right, as I mentioned in another post. I had color bits set to 16 after the fresh driver install (default I guess)...not 32. This accounted for the roughtly 8-10fps difference. Still I get about 58 fps with those same settings, just not the 66 I was hoping for.

Sorry for the misinformation but it took till today to figure out how DOOM3 was running so smooth. I'd say try it out too, since I couldn't tell the difference the graphics and quality are still stunning at 16 bit.
