Forceware 61.76 WHQL Official

About freakin time, now the Far Cry 1.2 patch needs to come out today too.

Oops. Didn't see it in the nvidia flavor section. Oh well, at least now they are on the http site and not just the ftp.

hot damn, and to top it off, my BFG 6800 GT has jsut been delivered. Can't wait to pick it up on the way home. :)

It looks like Nvidia will release two driversets, one without SM3.0, one with SM3.0

61.76 does not have SM3.0 (but the driver file can be modified to enable it)

61.77 does have SM3.0, but is not up yet - though the release notes for it are:
ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/6...vers_Release_Notes_Windows_XP-2000-9x-NT4.pdf

To enable SM3.0 support in 61.76 if you don't want to wait for 61.77:

Add the following lines to nv4_disp.inf *before* installing the driver (if you've already installed, uninstall and add these lines, then reinstall).

[nv_SoftwareDeviceSettings]
HKR,, D3D_35173345, %REG_DWORD%, 0x61243847

[nv_ClearRegistrySwitches]
HKR,, D3D_35173345

And, what good would that do, given that DX9.0c (that brings SM3.0 support to the OS) is not out yet, nor are any games or patches that use SM3.0 functions?

Well, it lets you run Rightmark3D and lets you see that you have SM3.0 caps available :)

You can get dx9.0c beta from the web.

I'll just stick with my trusty 61.71s until the 61.77s are released.

yep... I am waiting for the 61.77 because I have had no problems so far with the 61.71, :)

why no OpenGL 2.0 support? ATI has been advertising it for some time.
Seems hard to me to say you have OpenGL 2.0 support before OpenGL 2.0 as a spec is even finalized (though hopefully before long it will be). ARB is currently aiming for it to be finalized at SIGGraph 2004 (August 8-12).
