So I've been testing and it seems that these 180.43 drivers cause a weird texture flickering bug. It seems to be a shader related thing, but that's just a guess.

Any, the problem is as follows. In the screenshot below the bottom white/grey texture right under neath the exhaust pipes will flicker intermittently. It looks very remiscent of a Z-Buffer double texture flickering, or an overclocking artifact. However it happens when not overlocked. It doesn't happen on all cars, infact the only one I've noticed it happen on is the Lemans Audi T10 (or whatever it's called) as shown below:

It's most definitely a driver issue as any other previous driver I've tested the problem is non existant.

So is anyone else getting this issue with the 180.42 or 180.43 drivers, and if so/if not, what card are you using?

43 is better than 42 but yes they do cause some issues. I see it in WoW most.

From what I saw there are the official 180 drivers due this month.

Let's hope that these official drivers fix all the bugs people seem to be having.

I noticed over at guru3d.com someone was having a similiar problem to mine with COD4. Sunlight reflections on the water were overly bright. Seemed shader related and close to the problem I'm seeing in GRID.

It seems these drivers are causing problems that aren't easily noticable. I mean, I only noticed it in GRID because I happen to like playing the Lemans24 level with that particular car. It doesn't seem to happen on most other cars so I could have easily have missed this bug.

But yeah, fingers crossed for the official drivers...:(

Here's a speculated driver timeline from techarp.com:

October 21, 2008
Release of public beta that supports Far Cry 2 and SLI with X58 Express motherboards.
This beta driver will not support multi-monitor SLI or PhysX on dedicated GPU.

November 11, 2008
Improved beta driver for reviewers (not for public release).
This beta driver will support multi-monitor SLI, PhysX on dedicated GPU and improved performance.

November 17, 2008
R180 WHQL driver release

Is anyone seeing issues in Crysis Warhead using 180.43 drivers? When I get shot in crysis, the screen blurs, and actually flashes black for a second. I assume this is not supposed to happen, and an effect of some sort is not being loaded, but I could be wrong.
