Had a problem with 160 gig drive Windows has a wall at 137 gig so to fix it this is what I did.
edit the registry at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVICES\\ATAPI\PARAMETERS
then make a new DWORD and call it enablebiglba then modify it and give it a value of 1 reboot. then use partition magic or if Windows XP go to administrative tools in control panel and then go to computer management then disk management there you will see unallocated space format it and resize it all

what version of windows and why are you not running sp1 with windows xp? or can i guess why?

congratulations
however we do have a sticky thread addressing this issue
and the above will only work if the BIOS supports 48bit Large Block Addressing

other options are covered in the thread

hey, at least he didnt ask "how come my hd doesnt show all itself" and not list the system specs or anything...

I do have service pack 1 but it didn't fix it my bios does support it but win XP even with service pack 1 still came up 131 gig I searched the net and looked at that sticky and just found this basic way to fix it so if peoples boards do support the 48 bit drives this only took a few minutes to do and the format of the extra gigs took the most time

OH BY THE WAY WIN XP SERVICE PACK 1 WOULD ONLY RECOGNISE THE LARGE DRIVE IF IT WAS A SECOND DRIVE THATS WHY I DID THIS
