I am looking to get 19 lcd monitor for gaming and was wondering which would fit the bill the widescreen lcd or stardard 4:3 lcd monitor?

It's VERY subjective, however, most that try a good widescreen, don't go back to standard 4:3, at least for games. Widescreen is nice for documents two, 2 of them open side by side.

Try one at a local store before you buy. FWIW, I have two 19" widescreen LCD's, a 21" widescreen LCD, and a 51 inch widescreen TV....I hate standard 4:3 now....ugggg

does most new game support widescreen resolution?

Most do, many do with a small hack..........you always have an option of playing with bars on the sides if need be instead of scaling....

what i would do is look at the games you play and the future games that will be coming out. see which ones support widescreen. i pretty much only play bf2 and bf2142 and they do not support widescreen so i am delaying my puchase of a ws.

I would imagine by the end of the year, all pc games will have native ws support out of the box.I would never go back to 4:3 after gaming on my 2005FPW.I hate playing on a 4:3 now...
