foobar question

as u can c my death cab album has the yellow line thing, but the system album doesnt, how can that be fixed? i edtied the ID3 tags and filled ALL of the values.

It looks to be because the System of a Down album is missing track numbers. The script adds the line before every track 1, but since it doesn't know what is track 1 on the System of a Down album is it can't add the line.

It still is. It just has lots of options to change up the interface, if you care about that sort of thing.

yep, if the album doesn't have track numbers than album mode doesn't display correctly.

also i've found they have to be in 1,2,3 format (adding the disc like 101,102 ..201, 202) also screws it up

pain.angel: grab columns ui and then download a config from the settings db (down atm) rather than try creating your own from scratch. azrael is a very popular config and a good starting base

chronic's screen also has the albumart, track info, history and a few other plugins. foobar is highly customisable with loads of plugins, and yeah it's easy for a newb to get lost. check the forums for more help and all the plugins

That's the last time an update for foobar has been mentioned, I'm a little disappointed in the dev of foobar. I still like it better the iTunes and winamp but you'd think they would atleast update the core once in awhile.

you obviously pride yourself on being an audiophile (sig) so i recommend you give it a try and spend a few weeks tweaking and playing (seriously weeks, it takes that long).

Not sure I would call myself an audiophile, is kind of a dirty word. "I don't think this $2,000 power cable made much of a difference in my system" , "Well then obviously you don't have good ears "

I like my headphones though yes

I tried Foobar for a while, I think it is a cool little player, but Winamp does everything perfectly for me. There isn't a sound quality difference between the two when they are configured similarly, even the author of Foobar says this. So it comes down to what you like, and I just like the Winamp UI.

The DSP chains is cool and all butI just want my music to sound as pure as possible with as little filters and whatnot toying with the sound.

Foobar 0.9 beta is very nice. After a little bit of tweaking I'm using as my primary. You can get the folder options to work too by using the foobar file assications prog from the 0.83 version. 0.9 seems faster too.

There's a few Foobar formatting sites out there. Here's one:

To configure Foobar using this site, just go to Preferences >> Display >> Title Formatting and copy and paste the code into each corresponding window.

This site is a bit different in that it uses Columns_UI (not the Default User Interface):

Make sure under the Display section in Preferences that you have Columns_UI selected in the drop down menu. Go to the Other tab and click on Import and find the file you just downloaded.

Thanks for the links. I was trying to apply for "system tray" but I couldn't find it in Display section? Where can I find "System Tray"? Also, how can I customize the buttons and stuff like that? Thanks in advance.
