I use foobar2000 to listen to my Red Hot Chili Peppers CD's and my mp3's, and I love it. But since I have a few cds, I got tired of switching them in and out of the cd drives. So I used wmp 9 and burned them all to my hard drive but foobar can't play them (and yes they work if I use wmp 9). Btw, I did make sure that I installed all of foobar2000's formats. I don't understand why foobar is giving me an error message when I try to play them, I was under the impression foobar played practically all musical formats? So I guess the question is, can foobar even play wma's (btw I burned them with the lossless format, not sure if that makes a difference)? Or does anyone know what I am doing wrong? Thanks...

Umm. Use Exact Audio Copy and encode with LAME. If you want lossless, try FLAC or Monkey's Audio. Put WMA down and walk away.

Until then, at least the beta foobar2000 (special) supports WMA

The foobar "special" edition installer has support for wma. The lite and regular installers don't have it because honestly, wma is not worth your time. Well encoded mp3 and ogg or lossless flac and ape are much better choices.

Since he's using wma lossless, it's not too big a deal whatever he uses. If he switches to ape, he might save a few megs, but otherwise it's all going to sound the same, better than LAME because it's lossless.
