Ok, so i installed the client on my machine and I ran it. With 1 frame done I currently have 11405000+m/frames

is this good?

That would be a good idea ben, currently you're folding for no team (default team 0).
Might as well change that to team 33. :cool:
 
Yeah, Welcome a' moon do :p

Like some other members suggested, just crtrl + c the client terminal window, do a ./fah6 -smp -configonly (if you're doin Linux smp), change your team number from 0 to 33 and then just fire the client up and now for windose just right click on your foldin' icon shortcut on your desktop (for WinXP, I don't know nothin' about VISTA) and add -config to the path thing, save it, and double click the icon and be sure to change from 0 to 33 on the team number question, be sure to change it back (no -config), double click the desktop icon and away you go. :D

If you already knew all this jazz just ignore it and chalk it up to somebody that needs the "one finger typing" practice :rolleyes:

Welcome aboard Ben. Now that youre on the team, take a look at the Windows: V5 Beta SMP client over here and put your dual core cpu to use. You may also want to give the GPU2 client a look over and use that 9800gtx to crank out some mad point :D

If you wanted to max your boxen between CPU and GPU you could get:

If your running vista 7k ppd is doable,
if XP 5k

Your system is capable of a lot more.

High performance beta clients are available here.

For maximum points and production you should look into the GPU2 client (You will also need the CUDA capable drivers for yout 8800GTX) see our GPU2 guide for more details.

Or you could try the SMP client from the beta clients page alone if you have XP or alongside the GPU2 client in Vista.

The GPU client alone should get you about 5000 points per day, the smp client alone will do half that.
 
I'm running Vista x64. I'll have to follow the guides when I get home from work. Anyway, I'd like to thank you all for taking the time to help me out. I'll see what kind of numbers I could hit when I get home from work.
 
I just wanted to say welcome real quick. Once you get the SMP running on that rig you will probably want to overclock it a bit. You will be surprised what getting that CPU to 3-3.4 will do for your points per day in the SMP client. That board you have(and I have) is a decent not great overclocker. if you need any tips I can send you a really good link when I get home from work.

I have my GPU overclocked pretty well, I don't know the stats off hand for my GPU but I know my CPU is at 3.0. I'll post the stats when I get home from work.
 
That sounds pretty good then. I just saw in your sig saying your CPU was at stock settings and thought I would give you a heads up.

Good luck. It sounds like you have a pretty good start to all of this. Just make sure your power supply can handle the constant load and get it all burnin!

 
So i'm using the f@h-gpu and fahspy but fahspy isn't telling me what my ppd is =[ any work around this?
