Folding Thing

So what is the point of folding anyway? It seems stupid.

Have you taken the time to read any of the links in the top threads yet? Or, have you visited here:

http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandegroup/folding/

I first ask you to read what’s posted, then if you feel it’s “stupid” you can just move on with your life. If on the other hand you’re interested in possible cures for several diseases then please come join us. We will be happy to help you all we can.

Silly n00bs and their meager attempts at provocation.

Say what you will but we still hope that you or someone you love doesn't come down with a life threatening disease before our efforts prove warranted.

Read a little of what BillR pointed you to, if you still think it's stupid then move on. If you happen to change your mind then you're welcome to join up with us. Either way. Whatever you think would be less stupid.

probably a person who doesnt express himself that well... dont be too quick to jump on him. ;)

There are a few things to consider with folding... Most are in it for the science, some for the geekness of building computers that are overclocked to extreme levels AND run at full load for their lives. That is a true testiment of their skill. Some fold to help out and maybe find a cure for these horrible diseases.

I fold for all the reasons listed. Besides, you cant get moose-lovin anywhere else whilst a bard entertains you... why stop?

What Red said, and I love the community, the bonds we form in this little measly part of [H]... Look up at the top, free hardware assuming that it will go for folding, where else can you get this stuff?

happy folding/! :)

Folding has many benefits! Read on below:
1. Saves you from losing all your chips on a crap hand (poker)
2. It provides more room in your closet for clothes (vs. wad and stuff method)
3. You can send a sheet of paper across the room easily (paper airplane, duh!)
4. And last but not least, it may save countless lives from the many diseases it is intended to discover cures to! One may not be you, your friend or your friend's friend, but it could be your kid, grandkid or great-grandkid that it saves.
I did forget it may increase the size of your e-pee-pee, too! Can't we all use that?
Do it, do it.
