I have the gpu and cpu clients running along very smooth on my desktop. I will soon have a second vid card installed (non-sli). Do I just give the GPU client a new ID like 3 and it will figure things out?

Also,

My laptop, has a dual core amd 2.1 and ati radion hd 3200. I know built in video, is well, slow, but it is a DX 10. I installed the gpu client and it it reporting 16 days to finish the work unit. This seems to slow to me. Does this seem right? Right now I am just runing the cpu client on it.

Is it saying 16 days to finish as the deadline or 16 days as in how long it will take? I don't know much about the ATI side of things, but that seems like it would be too long for most GPU folding. Most desktop GPU folders, as you have seen yourself, take only a few hours at most to fold a protein.

What are the specifics of the protein you are folding? At the beginning of the log it should say something like "Project: 4618 (Run 16, Clone 29, Gen 11)"

That should work.

I use the Environmental Variable NV_FAH_CPU_AFFINITY to lock both GPU clients to the same CPU core on my dual GPU + dual VM boxen.
That way the dual VM share the other 3 CPU cores.
How to use it is Here.

Luck .......... :D

I'll get that when I get home from work. It is saying 16 days to finish.

I noticed my gtx 280 does 2-4k iterations. The hd 3200 does 5-10 (no k).

I know its a hybrid solution, that has 2d and 3d GPU's to save power when not in 3d. I am wondering if it isnt kicking into 3d mode for some reason.

Another note, is there a way to check progress on the CPU version? The display doesnt seem to work.

My ATI 3200 onboard desktop clocked at 600Mhz takes 2 days 20 hours. I would recommend you up your GPU clock if you can. The normal deadline I get is 3 days.

Hope that helps.

Too bad it's not an 8200M Nvidia chipset. It does blocks in a single day at stock clock. There isn't a way to overclock it yet.
