Can you fold on an ati 5770?

last time i checked about a year back you could only 1/2 way fold on one as it was not fully supported.

thanks,

Yes, you can fold on the ATI 5XXX series. I don't recommend anything less than a 58XX since you don't get a whole lot out of anything lesser.

If you decide to do it, then look up ATI environmental variables and use them to reduce cpu usage of the gpu client.

well, you work with what you have.

amd 3200mhz quad core, 8 gigs of ddr3, 2 solid state hard drives (1 for OS, 1 for apps) and an ati 5770.

I got around 3000 PPD from my 5770. A 8800GT beats the snot out of that with 4600+. :(

so do i have to type in any special commands in order to get it to work?

sure would be nice if stanford would get off their asses and get some support for the newer generation cards.

I didn't with the GP2 client. I'm not smart enough to do any major tweaking. :D
It would be nice to get the ATI's to their potential.

These are the instructions to set up the environment variables for folding on ATI GPUs as was previously mentioned (you'll want to use a FLUSH_INTERVAL of 128 instead, however): http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1419852

When you make a shortcut to the client .exe file, you'll need to use the -forcegpu ati_r700 flag to get it to start up. Alternatively, you can download the 6.32 GPU client instead, which will work without any special flags.

As zero said use the environment variables. Regarding a new client it is currently being worked on but these things take time. Once there is updated info someone will post the info here
