For all you folding@home and Linux users, I wanted to make an announcement.
The Ubuntu Folding Team is throwing it's first ever Folding Jam! This will be on Tuesday, November 4th. The Jam is 24 hours of F@H testing, bug fixing, and generally just a good time! We *are not* limiting this to only Ubuntu users - we would actually prefer to have people join us who use other distributions as well! We are going to be testing several different installation clients, and would like to cover our bases with as many different Distros as possible. Also, there's no experience required, and you don't even have to be a current folder to help us out!
For more information on the Jam, please check out the wiki page here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FoldingJam
**Please note: To add yourself to the 'Available' chart, you'll need to register for a free account to edit the wiki page. If you don't want to bother registering for an account, feel free to let me know here or on #ubuntu-folding, and I will add your name to the list for you
Also, our main line of communication for the Jam will be on our IRC channel at #ubuntu-folding on FreeNode. If you are unfamiliar with IRC, here's a nice guide to get you started with Xchat (an IRC client that is available for Linux and Windows):
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/XChatHowto
Here's where you can download the Windows version:
http://www.xchat.org/download/
Thank you all very much, and I look forward to seeing you guys
