Alright here i want to join this worthy cause.
The testbed at teh shop is a nice canidate and my pc is worthy. I guess what is Hardfoum team number or what not? The testbed is linux and my pc is win7. I hope it supports linux.

Welcome to the [H]orde! :cool:

Team number is 33. F@H is supported under Windows and Linux but not all types of clients run in Linux without workarounds. What systems do you have?

The system in the shop is a ubtunu 10.10 x86 dual core 1gb ram on board gpu. Not much but more the merrier.
Mine at home is a phenom II x4 4gb ram and a 5770. win 7 pro x64

for both you are fine running just the SMP client(best option actually), it runs in both WIndows and Linux....cant find the thread for the Guide atm, maybe someone who is sub'd to it can help ya out ?

GPU tracker (here) would get CPUs going in SMP under windows (reduces some of the effort).

I don't know where "our" LinSMP guide is. (maybe someone else does)

Stanfords is here.

Okay my shop pc is up and folding. :D nice. I like doing good things

You will have to fold 10 units without the bonus before the bonus starts working for you. So your PPD will be low for a little while.

Once you have folded 10 WU, with 80% completion prior to deadlines, you will be eligable for the bonus which should get you a few more PPD on the dual core, and a bunch more PPD on a quad.

not as familiar with Linux, but I believe that will be just that one client. You need client monitoring software (I have no idea for linux) like HFM.net to monitor multiple clients.

Get HFM.net here.

So if i am correct in the opt/foldingathome/1/myfolding.html should show my log on how much this pc and mine has folding correct?

I know i just installed it, but i am not seeing anything on the http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=userpage&username=bigdaveberg&teamnum=33 ... I know syncing and what not but should i reboot the pc also?

stanford does not update hourly, bi hourly i think, so 2 hours after you finish a unit you should see credit for it. as for monitoring, at home you can install HFM.Net which was linked above, and set it to "see" the folder on your test bed where you have folding installed.

Okay cool. Now to make sure if its running on test bed.

Now in the client.cfg it shows this,

[settings]
username=bigdaveberg
team=33
passkey="removed"
asknet=no
machineid=1

[http]
active=no
host=localhost
port=8080

Does that seem right lol? I know questions but its worth it.

I defiantly know its running cpu cores at 100%. No biggy. If the testbed blows up just a reason to upgrade like we want to :p

Oh ok. No apologies necessary. Welcome to the [H]orde! I run my folding on almost all Linux boxes primarily Fedora. I just wish bigadv was available for Linux.

Now. one last question. on the hardfolding site, how do i sign up? lol I started to but the last box with statsID# threw me off

No need to sign up, you will be added after a day or two if you're folding for 33 (which you are)

just wanted to thank all of your members for folding.we need to remember we are not in it to win a title or prize,we are in it to help humanity.i fold for evga but i enjoy your forums and info.just wanted to say to the H team,job well done brothers.i have also posted in the evga forums and want all folders to remember why we fold.we do not do it for monetary gains.we fold because in our heart we would like to help humankind.i have the up most respect for team H and in my own small way i just want to say thank you.

Well said, and thank you in return for your dedication to the cause, as well as your kindness! We're all in this together, regardless of who you fold for...

EDIT: Oh, and a big hearty welcome to BigDaveBerg, too!

sorry to dig up this thread but I accidentally "registered" with an ID that isn't mine so it put me in someone else's team.(Shoot'em_up_Hard). Once registered, there is no way to edit this field.

you can always change your name and get a new passkey. in the smp client change the flags to -configonly then the config will come up and redo your settings. or if your using the gpu tracker just delete the F@H folder in the gpu tracker folder and set it up again.
