Folding@home GPU throttling

You can try using Rivatuner to underclock the GPU core but leave the shaders (the sexy part of the GPU as far as FAH is concerned) running at stock. Not sure if that will reduce the fan speed though.
 
I just have a lowly Turion 64 X2 laptop with a GeForce 8400M GS, but to do my part I'm running Rosetta@home, and I've downloaded the GPU client to support Folding@home.

My laptop is in my bedroom, so I have to throttle Rosetta@home back or the fan noise is too loud. But it seems that there's no way to throttle back the GPU client for Folding@home, so my fan (which I believe cools both the CPU and GPU) runs incessantly.

Is there a way to throttle back my GPU utilization? I'd like to contribute, but I'm concerned about that much heat in my system, and the noise will drive me nuts.
 
Man, if you are complaining about the noise a laptop fan makes, you have issues. I'm using a fan out of an old Dual Pentium Pro server that moves an assload of air, and it doesn't even bother me. My laptop fan, I honestly never have noticed it except for the dragonfire that blows out of it because of my SMP client.
