there's no real reason to take 50 that far.... it's probably faster to hit I-70 in Columbus and head to Pittsburgh, and then down I-79.... (at least to get here)........ 50 between Clarkburg, WV and Parkersburg,WV is really good.... 4-lane all the way.... but in OH, it's not always a 4-lane.... and the last time I was on it, the parts that were 4 lane needed paved....
Of course, that was probably 10-15 years ago.... Anyways... have a safe trip....
I'm keeping my eye out for price drops... things here at work have been busy the last couple days, so I haven't been working on this project.... I hate deadlines that I forget about....
Ok. First off, the Gigabyte board listed on the socket 775 is not on newegg. Or the link just does not work. I looked at the 965GM board with the ICH8 on it and it uses 31.7W for that NB and SB combo. TDP for that board setup with a Q6600 is 136.7W. Anyone have an idea of how many watts are used by a single stick of RAM? Say a 512 MB stick? Most likely a 1.8V stick.
These numbers do not include the usage of a NIC card, graphics board, hard drive, and other parts connected to the system.
I would like to help with the socket 479 mobo but I would wait about a couple weeks anyways. It is about time for them to change stuff up again. Even though I like the idea of going with one of those combos from Aopen that has everything pretty much already, their may be a better answer.
