how cool would it be if some motherboard company made a folding edition motherboard that has like 8 PCIE slots or even more so people could build a super folding machine instead of spreading across multiple motherboards, i doubt it will ever happen though.

While I think an ATX board could only have 7 total slots, a 7 slot board would be crazy with the amount of potential power draw and PCI-E bandwidth it could use. BUT, some people have already made 4 slot PCI-E boards, like hte P6N diamond from msi and gigabyte has had 1 i think. I personally built a stock trading machine that had a P6N in it along with 4 7300GT's, it was a sight to behold. 4 8800GT's or something like that would be sick.

A folding oriented mobo would be sweet though.

I think youd hit the limit with power useage.
My big GPU box already pulls 900 watts.
Add another 4 cards, at ~180 watts per card, and it would increases that to ~1,600 watts.
Your getting well over the limit of most power sockets.

Getting rid of that much heat from a block of vid cards is hard.

Luck ............ :D

There's already a guy running 8 P6Ns with 4 8800GSes each (for a total of 32 GPUs) on one of the other forums. Saw the thread earlier today.
