I sent my GTX260 for step-up. Four days of withdrawl symtoms before I went to the Egg and ordered a new 9800GTX plus to hold me over until the 260 gets shipped back, lol.

The folding bug bit me square on the ass a while ago. :p
 
How long does the step up take?? I am about to step up my GTX 260. I don't think I can float a stand in card. This is going to suck.

 
According to EVGA, they ship 3 days after receiving your card. So depends on your shipping method, haha The big problem might be if you are missing even one item, ie driver disk/random cord that came in original box, there could be a 15% restock fee, so be foreworned.

This will cause you much pain and I am sorry. The step up can take weeks…………figure 6 if they have enough in stock.

As you probably read above your best bet is to pre-order an exact replacement as the card you will be stepping up.

The rationale for this thinking is to suppress at least part of the pain while you are exchanging cards. You won’t be non-productive and you will feel much better this way.

There is another issue you must consider however. Once you have everything in place and are feeling pretty good about yourself you will start to feel a …..well…a sort of twinge is the best way I can describe it. The next sign is going limp plus new and wonderful cravings you don’t understand at all.

This symptom can only cured by the addition of hardware, or as you might have seen more “D”.

Not to worry, you can’t stop it, it’s pretty much incurable every 12 step program ever written will not apply not to mention the pain you will have to endure. So, go with the flow, enjoy and know it is all for a good cause.;)


 
The folding but bit both cheeks for me! Check this out! (Finished my mom's upgrade!) This doesn't include the VM Linux SMP that I haven't figured out how to monitor yet.
