as for now, i root for Aratech! since Mohonri hasn't responded! Go! YAY! Fold! :D

 
Aw, man. I had no idea you were taking it this personally! Now I have to get serious! :p 50,000? That's like...four months away at my current production. Hmmm, I guess that just means I'll have to send out a mass email to my family (youngest of nine, baby!) and see how many of them are willing to help. I've already got two on board, let's see about the other seven...plus the parents.

that's insane...how old are y'all? do your siblings have kids? do you realize how many borgs this is?

Hey, I'm not taking this personal. :p It's just for fun. We've been at each others heals for some time now and we haven't been able to break away from each other. I just thought it would be fun to make it official. No hard feelings. It's all about the cure.

In fact, I went and read some of relics poetry before I decided on this and It really moved me. The point is this; the harder we go at it the closer we get to the cure.

I'm 24, and my oldest sister is 41. I have <counts.....> 21 nieces/nephews (not counting our son, who was #20 on my side), with 4 more due in January (one sister engaged to a man with 3 of his own kids, one sister-in-law expecting).

Unfortunately, it's not as many borgs as I would like. Both brothers (who are the next geekiest in the family) don't want to fold, one sister doesn't have an internet connection, I've already borged two other sisters...which leaves 3 sisters whose machines I *might* be able to borg, if they let me. And none of my sisters' families have multiple computers.

I have NO idea. They just don't want to. They certainly don't put any major load on their machines (other than occasionally compiling code), since they don't play games.
 
Well, you've passed me....for now. But I have at least two 600-pointers on their way in the next couple days. I was wondering why my production was down for the last couple days, despite the new borg.

Omg, 1200 points? I gotta get folding!! The good news for me is that I at least got one of the planned P4's going this afternoon. The other one didn't pan out. :(
 
Wow. After the week of small units (<100pts), now three of my 5 machines have 600 pointers. w00t! Huge :D

960 points in one update, to put me up by 238 points. Ah, I love it when that happens. Kinda pushes my ppd up just a titch.

The image (http://userpages.umbc.edu/~willm1/rofl.gif) is broken? That's weird. It comes up just fine for me, both at work and at home. I guess I'll just have to figure out my ISP's web hosting thing tomorrow. Wife's calling me to come to bed.

EDIT: Ooh, ooh! I just broke the top 1500! And still lots and lots of skulls above me.
 
The umbc image is my re-host of the lions.co.uk one, which blocks hotlinking. So if you shift-refresh, it'll probably break again.

I got 915 points in the last update, and I'm up to 3435 for the day, with one to go yet. :D

Don't be soo sure. I got my laptop back up and running at 140 PPD running QMDs, and a couple more borgs in the coming weeks. But feel free to try.

EDIT: 192PPD on this QMD, I <3 QMD's.

Good point. I've dated a girl on the north side of Houston a couple times this past week that is the youngest of 9. I didn't even think of the borging potential that could be if we decide to go out. I'm used to me being an only child and all.
 
I think one of my borgs isn't folding for me any more...It was just about done with a ~150 pointer last night, but I haven't received credit for it. And it's my best borg. Lucky for me, it's got TightVNC installed (for tech support reasons), so I'll look at it tonight and tell it to behave.

Now on to a more serious matter:

I'm having trouble setting advanced methods on my main box. I added the -advmethods switch but it doesnt seem to be working. It also stops my console from running as a service. I looked in system administration and saw it's still listed as a startup program but the service is stopped. I choose the "start service" option and I got an error message. Something about F@H can't be found. If I remove the switch, I can enable the service without a problem. Any ideas?
 
Could you post a screenshot of the properties window for the service? It kinda sounds like the path might be messed up. It should be something like this:
Path: "C:\Program Files\F@H\FAH502-Console.exe" -svcstart -advmethods

with the quotes just around the path to the executable.
 
Are you editing the registry entry (for the service) to add the -advmethods switch?

Sounds like two things, did you move the location of the console? That would explain the not found portion, and if you're needing to modify the serivce to add -advmethods I suggest this tool if you're un-familiar with registry editing: http://devel.bluetentacle.co.uk/dc/pkfsct/index.htm

I didnt move the program.

I looked thru here and followed what I thought were the instructions.

I didnt know I had to edit the registry. I was doing this except I was putting "-advmethods" in instead of "-config."

" right click on the red " star " looking icon , and select " properties "

* At the end of the " FAH-Console " make a space using the spacebar and add in " -config " ( see picture below ) or " -configonly " if you want the client to exit after you configure."
 
Are you using the graphical client? or the console?

what you need to do is go into the registry and find the key for the F@H service. I believe the value you want to change is "Image" (it's a string value). Just add -advmethods to the end of the string, and you should be set.

An easy way to find the key is to search for the full path of your F@H client. It is NOT the legacy entry, btw.

Or you can just cheat. ;)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\FAH@C:+....

Under that key there is an entry for Image path which has the path to the service start location in it, after the -svcstart add -advmethods and probably -forceasm so it always reboots with SSE turned on.
