ok, i am spending more and more time using my computer in linux, however this is reducing my production in folding at home. is it possible for me to use the linux cli client but have it and windows share the same work units? or is this a very bad idea and something that should be avoided?

I think you have to run the windows client under wine in Linux to use the same data, could be wrong though. That might be the best way to approach it anyway if you want to give it a try. I know some others have tried it, don't know how they made out but surely someone will let you know.

There are some details in this thread. I'm not sure if its a complete answer but there are a fair amount of details pertaining to your question.

ok, i will install wine at a later time since i am gonna go lay back down and hope my migraine goes away :(

or i suppose i could install it under cedega for now to see if that works ;)

As long as you've got cedega going, that should work fine. It's just a slightly modified version of wine.

ok, then i shall try that, but i will also setup wine in case i decide not to renew my cedega subscription when it expires

i think i have it working, however i don't get a window. is there a way to see if folding at home is running under cedega? i am emerging gtop right now (i love gentoo) and i will post a screenshot for you guys so you can see)

If you've a Windozes boxen on your network with EMIII installed, then if EMIII can see the Linux folder, it can monitor it.
Thats my first thought.

Luck......... :D

don't have EMIII running right now. and all the Windoze boxen that could run it are in the basement, and due to doctor's orders, i can't go up and down steps right now. i did run top and it looks like its running (wine is taking up 80+% cpu time). i emailed transgaming to see if there is a way i can get point2play to start it automagically when i login ;)
