Folder Permissions (Win XP)

I have a frustrating little problem, hopefully one of you will know the answer to this.

If I create a new folder on my desktop and then try to rename it I get the following error :

Renaming, movinf or deleting 'New Folder' could make some programs not work. Are you sure you want to do this?

Obviously this is happening becuase the OS thinks that 'New Folder' is registered somewhere (I assume the registry) as being a system or an installed application folder, which it obviously isnt.

Does anybody know how to fix this?
