Floppy Disk Problem

My friend put some important files for work on a floppy. He's worked on them and re-saved about 20 times. Now when he tries to open the files, the computer cannot read them from the disk. There are other files on the disk that open fine. He asked me what to do but I'm not sure.

Anyone have any suggestions, or is all hope lost?
