Floor Vibrations

My apartment has all hardwood floors. My computer is on the floor. And while I don't go squaredancing in my bedroom floor, sometimes I am worried that the normal vibrations of just walking and moving myself/things around the room could be harmful to the hard drive. I have no room on my desk to put the case either. The case never comes into any direct impact or anything, so I've always thought it would be safe.

Am I just being paranoid, or is this fear warranted? Should I put a piece of foam underneath the case or something?

I don't think you are being paranoid.....well maybe a little over concerned though :p I don't think that normal traffic on the hardwood would do your comp damage through vibration in the short run, but all vibration could dislodge components over a longer time span. If you want to dramatically slow down the process, just place your comp on a mat of foam rubber..... I would be more concerned with the computer's ability to collect dust in it's lowly position :)
