floopy drive anit working

hey, im almost finsh building my p4 computer. i got a floopy drive for it today and its a panasonic, when i installed it on the computer, and turned it on, the floopy lite is on. i dunno if it see the floopy, the floopy lite is on all the time, i reconnected the wires with another ide cables and same shit. i tested it on my compaq, and it works perfect. what the fuk is wrong with this?
 
I had a new floppy drive do that once. It turned out that the alignment slot for the floppy cable was on the wrong side of slot. I cut the alignment tab on the cable and plugged it in "upside down" and it worked.

what you mean cutting thee tab? do you have any pictures? thx
 
With most floppy (heh, floopy?) drives, there are 2 slots for the tab, one on top and one on bottom. Try just turning the cable upside down when you plug it in.

If the light is on all the time you have a cable plugged in backwards.
