Hi All,

I am an ATi newb, this is my first ATI card so don't really know where to go with this error. I have just replaced my 2xGTX280+Matrox TH2Go with a Sapphire 5970 so I can get native res on my monitors. (and thanks to winning 2000NZ$ off MS in a compo!)

What happens is when I start the CC it seems to flicker, and if you have a drop down menu open it will flick close. Whenever I try to increase the setting on Overdrive all the screens flicker whenever you change something. I.e. click on a new tab you get a flicker with a few lines across it. It does the same if I underclock OR use MSI afterburner to change anything. So anything but default causes the flicker.

Any ideas? Is this something that has been sen before?

Cheers, M1.9P

ps the mini-DP is connected using an Apple adapter that seems fine :)

I just found out that it is only the Overdrive page on the CC that flickers. The others don't....I guess I will try a re-install... I wonder if I will lose my custom display set ups, they took me 2 or 3 hours to get to work so I hope not :(

Is there anyway to export them or maybe copy the custom files? I can't find them

its most likely power play, which means the card shift between 2D/3D and that cause the flickering.
only solution I know is, either run one screen or 3D all the time, set with amd gpu tool..

Umm so I take it you mean not in the CCC but in AMD GPU Tool... ATi tool as was? It is only up to v0.26 that I can see, from 2006! Or another tool?

Cheers

I am newly back to ATI and had the same thing with the 9.10 drivers on my 5870 but it is not doing it now with the 9.11 drivers. Which are you currently using?

It was very annoying to pull up the options drop down window just to have it disappear before you could select anything. (Unless you were fast.)

Buggered if I know!

The DL says: "8.663.1_Beta5_Hemlock_VistaWin7_Nov11

The CC says: "2009.1110.2146.39048"

So I guess 9.11 from the '2009.1110' bit?

Yup, that is correct.

I don't know what else it could be. I didn't do anything else other than install the 9.11 drivers over top of the 9.10 drivers. (What I've seen suggest for ATI. Though I do not why?)

so you reckon uninstall 9.11, then re-install 9.10 then 9.11.......

That is a pain- it took me ages to get mt profiles and EF working! I think (for the moment) I will live with an stock clocked card.... for the first time in years! ;)
