Flex ATX PSU reccomendations

Hi, I'm looking at installing a Flex PSU into my SFF system but am unfamiliar with them, so it would be great to get some more experienced users feedback.

Can anyone recommend a reliable and safe brand?

The PSU doesn't need to be huge. 300W would likely be enough. It also does not need a GPU connector because my graphics card is a single slot Quadro. It does however need to power a high end CPU. At the moment I'm using the 6700K but I will upgrade to a higher power unit in the future.

Thanks

Does your system only allow Flex ATX psu? Check out the FSP 400w Gold

Thanks, but I cant find anywhere to buy that in UK. Would you recommend the FSP300-60LG?

The case was originally intended to use and SFX PSU, but if I mount a Flex ATX there is much more room above the CPU.

What do you think abut the Streacom ST-ZF240?

You can just order it from amazon.com, they can ship internationally.

I've used it and at least in terms of power it powered my GTX970 and i7-4770T with ease. Don't know about noise, though, only used it with an 80mm fan on top.
If you can, you should rather get the FSP300-60FAG, it's the same PSU but with 80+ Gold instead of normal 80+ efficiency, so less power draw and less noise.

No good for cases that don't have massive passive heatsinks on the outside. Too much of a hassle to cool and in the end would probably be as large as SFX.

Thank you both. I will try to get the FSP300-60FAG.

I was also concerned the ST-ZF240 would not work well in a standard case. So thanks for clarifying that.

iFreilicht, I noticed you have used the SSP-300SUG before on the Brevis S, and had some issues with it. Do you recommend avoiding Seasonic?

FSP400-60FAG is best, but FSP300-60FAG or SSP300-SUG are both fine.

Here in the States, the SSP300-SUG is $20 cheaper and has the best performance/dollar ratio.

As far as me and iFreilicht have seen, the SSP300-SUG's C14 connector location is not quite standard. It's moved up more than standard, so some screwheads cannot fit without hitting the C14 connector itself.

I don't know if that's a concern for the case you're building in, but worth noting nonetheless.

Thanks for the advice, I will probably buy the SSP300-SUG as it is significantly cheaper in the UK.

Also that shouldn't be too much of a problem Hahutzy.

No, I wouldn't. The thing is that I don't know what the problem with my setup is, and as I've done completely custom cabling, it could very well be that I used too few wires to connect the GPU or a too small wire gauge, or both. As Hahutzy can run his unit just fine on full load, I suspect that mine is failing in benchmarks because of mistakes that I've made.
