Short & sweet....

Looking for a good quality flatbed scanner. I've virtually no knowledge/expertise in this dept. I DO understand resolution size, color depths, etc. But, who's good quality? Canon? HP? Epson?

Budget: $50-$200
Primary Purpose: Scanning photos and/or negatives
2ndary Purpose: Scanning pages of text (personal journal pages)

I've located this one based off reviews and a lil research (see below), but would appreciate any additional input, thoughts, opinions, and/or recommendations some of you may have out there. Thank you sincerely in advance for your help/advice!

Thinking of going w/: Epson Perfection V30 (costs around $70-$90)

I've always like Epson's hardware and software over Canon and HP, you've found a nice scanner as well, as with everything else related to optics: JMOD

obobski!!!! :)

Thank you for once again offering me up some solid advice! :D

Ya rock man! Hope all is going well for ya

What's the "JMOD" thing about though? I didnt get that part...

After more research, looking around, etc etc....

I decided to splurge and go w/ the Epson Perfection V600. Ordered it from newegg.com for around $210. *shrug* Based on everything I've read...I'm either gonna love it...or be "ehhh" about it. We'll see. I couldnt invest anymore time researching the matter, and responses here weren't very ...high (unusual for this forum >:p ), so ....hey, sometimes ya just have to wing it!

Thanks for replying though you two :) Appreciate it !
