My system: Windows XP, Amd 4200 x2, 2gb ram, Geforce 8800gts, and my current HDTV/Monitor - Olevia Syntax LT26HVE.
The monitor supports a max resolution of 1280x1024, however I am running it in a widescreen resolution 1280x720, which looks fine. The problem I'm having is when I want to play older games, that don't support widescreen, everything looks streched and I want to play with the black borders instead. I've download the fix for forceware to allow flat panel scaling, but it doesnt work correctly.
The only setting that works is the default setting "use my displays built in settings". The other settings either distort my monitor even more (black bars on top and bottom) when I'm in 1280x720 resolution, or when I'm in other standard screen resolutions like 1024x768, it does the exact same thing. I really wish my HDTV had the option of changing between borders and streching when in DVI mode, but it does not. Anybody have any answer? Thanks.
