What exactly is the difference between the E207WFP vs the 2007FPW aside from the E207WFP having a 5ms Response time for $329 and the 2007FPW having a 16ms response time for $449.

I currently have a 2005FPW and I wouldn't mind tacing on a 2007FPW.

I don't know much about monitors. What makes the E207WFP cheaper..? I don't game that much anymore, so its not that big of a deal if it has a slower refresh rate.

I don't really see that much of a difference in upgrading from a 2005 to a 2007, but I don't have a 2005, so I couldn't tell you. The E207 uses a TN panel, while the 2007 uses an S-IPS or S-PVA panel. In general, this means that the image quality, viewing angles, colors, etc. is higher on the 2007. TN panels in general *may* be slightly faster in response time and may see less ghosting in games, but the 2007 has been tested to be pretty solid in games. The only reason I would see to get the E207 is price. The 2005 is already the higher quality type panel, so there's no real point in downgrading to an E207.

It reads like the OP wants to add a second display to me.
Go with the 2007 as your secondary (or as your new primary), image and color reproduction should be very close so it should be easy to get them both to match up.

Once you go duals, you won't want to go back,

Yeah, right now I have a 2005FPW and a 19" CRT.. I really wouldn't mind picking up that 2nd 2007FPW.

Thanks, I'll probably make a purchase after their Christmas sales.

In practice it is much more complex than that. VA panels have much more horizontal tone shift than even TN panels. I started with a PVA and couldn't stand using it and I now have a TN that is tolerable. Not everyone is bothered by tone shift though.

For Me:
2007wfp (IPS) > e207 (TN) > 2007wfp (PVA).

YMMV.

I agree. I regular use both an IPS and a TN panel. Both are fine with me. I've (fortunately) never had to deal with a PVA panel, but honestly, I think I'm in the part of the population that isn't bothered by the tone shift. That you are sensitive to it is both a blessing and a curse. :)

I apologize for misunderstanding the OP. I would suggest going with the 2007 as a 2nd if you don't mind the price mainly because there's a better chance you'll get a similar picture on both.
