Flashing Pixels on 2001FP?

Hello, I was wondering if anybody could help me out with this..

I have a Dell Precision M60 laptop, and I just bought a 2001FP to connect to it. The display is beautiful, however there is one glaring problem:

In areas that are dark gray, there are bright flashing red pixels. I know that the pixels themselves are not working improperly, because the pixels appear only with that specific color, and not with any other. I have also tried four different driver versions. The little red flashing pixels appear everywhere that color is - on my background, in games, and in movies. I can't seem to find any information elsewhere on this problem.

What could be wrong, and how would I be able to fix it? I am connected through DVI to an nVidia Quadro FX Go 700, if that helps at all. thanks a lot.
 
Off the top of my head I’d guess your running out of video card for that monitor. Have you tried dropping the resolution back to see if that helps?
 
I tried lowering the resolution, but it doesn't help... there are still red dots. Do you think it could have anything to do with the DVI cable? The video card itself is based off the geforce fx go 5650, i believe... it outputs 1920x1200 to my laptop screen fine. I'm not sure what it is.

I just grabbed a quick look at the specs, looks like a hell of a nice laptop. A possible issue I see is the “port replication” for DVI, it’s not native to the laptop.

Might there be a conversion issue there?
 
Ah, that's a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. I'll be bringing my desktop from home when they let me go home for thanksgiving, and I'll connect it to that. Hopefully that will help... thanks again, man.
