Nope, too expensive and the capacity isn't high enough.

they go up to 32gigs (or will in the near future) but seagate is releasing 750gig and 975 gig hd's
 
flash dirve maybe but i doubt it. if it was directly hooked up to the mobo without going trough usb yes. there has been a 64 gb flash drive...it i think went off the market though.
in the future yes something like flash will replace hard drives. they will probably be around for a good wile just because of size.
